Bhagavad Gita 6.7 jitatmanah prasantasya paramatma samahitah sitosna-sukha-duhkhesu tatha manapamanayoh For one who has conquered the mind, the Supersoul is already reached, for he has attained tranquillity. To such a man happiness and distress, heat and cold, honor and dishonor are all the same.

Question: Why Buddhists Do Not Attain Krishna?

The heart of a fully perfected Buddhist is pure, completely detached from the material world and its desires.  His consciousness is clean. So why are the Buddhists unable to attain Krishna? According to Lord Vishnu do they achieve the Brahmajyoti ?

Answer: Because They Have Not Awakened Love of Krishna

If one achieves the perfection of Buddhistic nirvana, pure desirelessness, he penetrates the coverings of the universe and enters into the Causal Ocean, which is a neutral position between the material sky and the spiritual sky. In order to go further and become qualified to enter the spiritual sky one must awaken the desire within his heart to lovingly serve Lord Sri Krishna. To attain this Buddhistic nirvana is a most difficult process and is practically impossible for anyone in this age. And even after attaining it one has still not attained the topmost perfection. Therefore it is recommended that in this age of Kali everyone should chant the Hare Krishna mantra and easily qualify themselves to attain the supreme perfection of eternal residence in the spiritual sky.

Krishna's pure devotee is the topmost well-wisher of all living beings. He sees everyone, even the plants, animals, insects, birds, and fish as the eternal servants of Krishna. Therefore his only desire is to awaken the dormant Krishna consciousness within the hearts of all living beings. Such a devotee who fully understands and resonates with the innermost desire of Lord Krishna is naturally most dear to Krishna. If by the grace of Lord Krishna we are able to come into contact with such a fully liberated pure devotee, we should take shelter of him, accepting him as our spiritual master, because by his causeless mercy and expert guidance we can quickly and easily become liberated from this material existence and regain our original identities in the most splendorous transcendental kingdom of God.

For those devotees not familiar with the name Sadaputa Dasa (Dr. Richard L. Thompson), he was one of Srila Prabhupada’s foremost preachers to the scientific community, one of the founding members of the Bhaktivedanta Institute, author of numerous books presenting the Vedic view of reality, international lecturer, a respected Vaishnava, and a veritable transcendental genius. He is also responsible for much of the current design of the Vedic planetarium in Mayapur and many other exhibits planned for the TOVP. It was the world’s great misfortune that in 2008 he passed away from this world, leaving much work undone in his life’s mission and service to Srila Prabhupada.

In his own words he felt that, “Believing science to be wrong and Krishna consciousness right is not sufficient. You must know WHY science is wrong.” Thus, aside from finding ways of bridging the gap between science and the Vedic wisdom, one of his main goals was to teach and educate devotees exactly why scientific explanations of reality are incomplete at best, and continue to be so.

There is now underway an effort to collect, preserve, and disseminate his legacy of lectures, books, videos, interviews, papers, etc. for the benefit of all future generations of devotees and researchers of Vedic wisdom. And first in this effort is the creation of a dedicated Youtube Channel, The Sadaputa Digital Channel, now available to watch atwww.youtube.com/user/SadaputaChannel. This is undoubtedly the most complete and organized collection of Sadaputa’s lectures, seminars, videos, and interviews available in one place. We recommend you visit the channel and subscribe so you can receive announcements of related Archives progress.

In the coming years we hope to provide all these lectures, seminars, etc. in CD format along with transcriptions for serious research and study. A website and Facebook Page are also planned for the near future.

Sātyaki also accepted a seat of honor after receiving worship and welcome from the Pāṇḍavas, and the Lord's other companions, being duly honored, sat down in various places.

Kunti was the sister of Vasudev and grew up in the kingdom of Kuntibhoja. One day Durvasa Muni, son of Atri Muni & Anusuya Devi and an expansion of Rudra, visited king Kuntibhoja and the king had Kunti serve him. Being pleased by her service, he gave her a blessing in the form of a mantra wherein she could invoke any demigod and beget a child from them.

Whoever we are, sometimes makes mistakes and sometimes those mistakes can bring reversals in our life. Eg.: Pandu killed the sage couple in the forest by mistake & got cursed. Later he made another mistake & had to give up his life.

Detachment means to understand that whatever we have is God's property - nothing is actually mine. BG 5.29 - Peace formula - bhoktaram… And if everything is God's property, everything should be used as per His will. Krsna loves everyone infinitely forever. But he reciprocates to us according to how we live.

You are envious of someone if he does the same thing as you but much better. Eg.: Duryodhana envying the Pandavas. Krsna tells in Gita that our happiness should not lie in the results of what we do, but the quality of consciousness in which we do it. It is our devotion that pleases Krsna - all success records eventually are broken.

Any gift's value is the love in which it is given. Eg.: Vidura's wife feeding banana peels to Krishna.

Usually whatever u r most attached to, becomes ur strength or weakness. If maya sees u r attached to something, she can act so that it becomes ur weakness. Eg.: Bhima - Vrikodara, was taken by Duryodhana & fee poisonous cakes.

Whatever happens to a devotee is ultimately for his good. Sometimes people get confused. Eg.: Bhima bitten by snakes after being thrown in Ganges, which neutralised the poison and he came out more powerful.

People respected Duryodhana out of fear whereas Yudhisthira was respected out of love. D wanted what Y had and so he envied him.

Duryodhana was the grandson of Vyasdev, the literary incarnation of Godhead and was brought up before Bhisma - the most righteous person. But because he repeatedly made wrong choices, he became the most duplicitous person.

Bhima killed the demon Bakasura at Ekacakra, where 4500 years later, Lord Nityananda appeared.

Here in this verse Krsna has come to meet the Pandavas. Kunti comes to meet him. Krsna knows everything what is going in the heart of his devotees. Kunti worshipped Krsna and Krsna worshipped Kunti.

SP explained a proverb from Bengal - a mother in law teaches her daughter in law by instructing her own daughter. Similarly Krsna teaches the whole world through his loving devotees - like Kunti, who went through so many tragedies but never gave up taking shelter of Krsna.

As long as we are dependent on material shelters, we're never going to take shelter of Krsna.

Many of you know the story. He left India when he was 69 years old, crossing the Arabian Sea on a cargo ship named Jaladuta. He had two heart attacks, sea sickness, and still he had to cross Africa, the Suez Canal, and the entire Atlantic Ocean! For some short stay he was in Butler, Pennsylvania, at some stranger’s house, and then he was living in the bowery ghetto of New York. Living in the esteem of the highest saint, and around him were drunkards, prostitutes, drug addicts and criminals. The lowest ghetto in America in those days was the bowery. He had no other place. Someone just let him stay on his floor.
He had such a positive attitude. Somebody gave him a tape recorder and he taped himself chanting Hare Krishna. Then he taped not only kirtan, but some little speech along with it. He had a program in somebody’s apartment, only about three or four people came and he played the tape. Srila Prabhupada writes in his diary, “They came. They could not understand the words; they could not understand what I was saying. But they seemed interested. Three or four people, they seemed interested.” He writes, “Now I know that Haridas Thakur’s prophecy that the holy name will convert and transform the hearts of people all over the world will come true.” How many of us… if Gaur Gopal Prabhu or Gauranga Prabhu travel all across the world and there was some little ghetto apartment and three, four people came and they could not even understand what they were saying, would they see this as a sign that the mission of Krishna is going to spread all over the world and be ecstatic about it? Most people would be very depressed.
But Srila Prabhupada had a positive outlook. Any little thing he saw, he saw as Krishna’s sign to encourage him to go on – any little thing.” – Radhanath Swami
He would report to his god brothers what was going on. And they were saying – back in India – “Forget it. Just come back. It is useless.” Nobody else could see it. He had the positive outlook, and then some boy named Paul invites him to stay in his apartment. It was on the 5th floor, and a dark stairway to get up there. It was just a loft. Do you know what a loft is? It is just the small place that was used for warehouses back in the 19th century, when Manhattan developed. They are just practically condemned buildings, and poor people just make those warehouses into their homes. One room, no partition. And in that room is the kitchen, the bathroom, the bedroom, the living room, the dining room, the exercise room and everything. One little dull light bulb hanging from the ceiling, with cobwebs. But Srila Prabhupada was writing, “We have a temple now in New York City.” He was writing to his god brother, “Come, come. Now we have a temple. Now our mission to teach the pure lesson of Bhagavad-Gita… we actually have a centre now in New York City, Manhattan”. Now, most of us in that place, we would think, “Is this temple? Is this a centre?”
And few days later, that boy Paul got intoxicated with some kind of LSD and threatened to kill Srila Prabhupada, and kicked him out of his house. He accused Srila Prabhupada of using his soap, and actually wanted to kill him. So Srila Prabhupada was homeless in the streets of New York. Why did not he return? He still saw with the positive attitude that things were unfolding. A little later he writes in his diary, “Today according to the Vedic Calendar it is Gaura Purnima, the appearance day of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. All my god brothers, they are in Vrindavana and Navadvipa celebrating with kirtan and with katha, and in the association of so many wonderful loving people.” He said, “I am all alone in New York City. There is not another Vaisnava within ten thousand miles. But I am happy because I am doing the work of my spiritual master. I have no personal self-interest. Whatever I am doing is in their service, the mission of their compassion.”
So a situation where almost anybody would be lonely and depressed… “What am I doing in this place?” On that day it was snowing and he had no warm cloths. Very difficult. But he was ecstatic. He was happy. He was seeing positive opportunity. “I am selflessly doing. This is a servant. I do not care, whatever inconvenience. I do not care, whatever success or failure may be coming. I am doing this as a service. Because I know I am pleasing Krishna, that’s all that matters. I know I am trying to do good for humanity, that’s all that matters.”
Then sometime later he was just staying at someone’s house – not a house, another bowery flat – and they got him a little storefront in the lower east sides, small little storefront. Some well-wishers paid for the first month rent and said, “Swamiji, we won’t be able to help you after this.” He had no income, he had no support and he had nothing. He called some well-wishers together to register a religious organization within America, with the government. They called it, “The International Society for Krishna Consciousness.” Then few little well-wishers who were becoming – just barely becoming – devotees, just a few people who had no money at all, they said, “Swamiji, International? We do not even know if we have money for the next month for this little tiny storefront in the lower east side. What is this international?” He said, “No no. We have temples all over the world. We have millions of books being distributed. We have farm communities. It is only separated by time.” That’s the positive attitude.
Then he did it, because that positive attitude was based on his complete faith in the teachings of Bhagavad-Gita, complete faith in Krishna. Hare krishna
